In the name of the father and the sonof the Holy Spirit, you know for good reason: Lots of people are saying terriblethings about the year, tw thosanty twenty. If I asked you if you've said some of those terriblethings about two thousandand twenty, I would guess most of you have. I confess I have. There have been so many horrible developments in this year, but I'll tell you this brothers andsisters. I thank God that there is a tw thsantand twenty and I thank God that we number ouryears of the way we do, and the only reason we do is because of the feastthat we are celebrating right now. The words of those angels...

...announcing good news of a great joy forall the people is some. It's such a larger wave thananything that the devils, horrible leaders or a virus could do tous. Those are all minor technicalitiescompared to the incredible great joy of the good news of Christ's birth and thecomplete change that has been brought on theworld by his birth light, replacing darkness hope replacing despair, freedom, replacing slavery, the love ofGod. In our lives, instead of fear and the tyranny of death and the gods thatwe were all so scared of no, this is this is a great day for us.

There's a beautiful word in the Sticera of the of the vest Bers is the last one thatwe we chant, that our chant ere, so marvelouslychanted in this litergy, and I think its language describes the Christian Spirit, that's created byChristmas. What Christmas has done to us? Whatkind of people it's made us into this great news of the unbelievable joy ofChrist's birth. This is how it reads the very first sentence: What shall we offer? The O Christ for Thou hast appeared on earth as manfor our sakes, of all the creatures made by the each offereth, theThanksgiving, the angels offer thee the Hymn, the heavens, the star, the Maji, their gifts, the shepherds, theire,...

...wonder the Earth Hurrcave theWilderness, the manger, and we offer thee a virgin mother, O God who wasbefore the ages, have mercy on us. What shall we offer the OA Christ? Thatis the Christian spirit. That's the disposition of a person who believes inChristmas. Therefore, this is our disposition it's to get up every morning and to askthat question: What shall I offer Thee O Christ today? It's what you do when you have aheartful of gratitude and notice that that's what the Hymn said: every aspectof creation offered a gift to Christ in Thanksgiving, it's, the naturalmovement of the world, the redeemed world, in response to being embraced byGod, when you're loved this much when you'resought this much when your darkness is...

...invaded by a person like this, this isthe natural response. What shall I offer thee, and so I leave thatquestion to you. What will you offer? How will Christmas this year changeyour life so that you can show more concretelywith a more full heart, your Thanksgiving for being so loved and for Christ coming to be born inBethlehem? What will we offer? Maybe it will beobedience, a greater obedience. Maybe it will be a greater commitment to each other. Maybe it will be agreater fervor for worship whatever it is asking. The question of yourself is thenatural response to this feastday. I wish you all a very, very wonderfulChristmas Eve and Otecetone.
